The Unity Committee schedules and books commitments for CJI representatives to "take a meeting" to groups in the area. The purpose is for one alcoholic to talk to others about their experience, strength and hope and to explain and answer questions about CJI.
The unity committee schedules and books commitments for CJI representatives to go to AA groups to talk about what CJI is and what we do.
Some of the things Intergroup does:
Answering Service –The Answering Service Committee maintains the "Twelve Step" response list and the scheduling of hot line phone commitments. This committee assures that when CJI receives a call for help that someone is there to give the needed help.
Correctional Facilities –.The Correctional Facilities Committee "concern is the ‘alcoholic behind-the-walls’, whether in a long- or short-term institution". This committee schedules prison commitments and provides information and literature to prisons and other institutions.
Hospitals & Institutions –With approval of administration, takes A.A. meetings into facilities within its area.
Literature – Intergroup coordinates the sale and distribution of all AA literature for all the groups in the Central Jersey area. The CJI Office has established hours for literature sales. Currently, the hours are:
Sunday - 12:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Monday—6:00 P.M.—8:00 P.M.
Tuesday—1:00 P.M.—5:00 P.M.
Thursday—3:00 P.M.—5:00 P.M.
The first Wednesday of every month at the CJI Body Meeting.
Meeting List – The meeting list committee is responsible for publishing and maintaining an up to date list of AA meetings in Trenton and surrounding areas who have registered with CJI..

Public Information – .A. Public Information has one ultimate goal, and it is the same as that as every A.A. Group and type of service work: To carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers.
Public information reaches the alcoholic in three ways:
Steering – The Steering Committee composed of officers, committee chairs and trustees, meets monthly to discuss CJI business and to set the agenda for the upcoming body meeting.
Web Site - The Website Committee is responsible for maintaining the website. This includes posting the current CJI meeting list. The web site is used to communicate what is going on with CJI, and A.A. as a whole. In addition to intergroup committees, we post anniversary meeting announcements and new meeting announcements for the groups in our area.
